In some versions of the game you have an officer creation mode which allows with some experimenting. All this is normally done in a menu system with pretty cool animations in city or country side. Diplomacy, Espionage, Building your cities up that are under your warlord’s control. Romance of the Three Kingdoms, main focus is on several aspects of war and nation building. Then again every version of the game changes a bit so it is not a total standard. That means a unit is so many units in size and strength, formations are not implemented like total war. Usually battles are played out like the old ROTK games. Here at least “ in this version” it is an over world view and the units are on a hex map. No it is not like total war, unlike total war you are not zoomed down into a battle and dealing with positions.
